A Word about What is Not....

“Faster than a speeding bullet; more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound; it’s a bird, it’s a plane – It’s Superman!” That is how George Reeves was described when I was young. Think about it though; to know what Superman was, one should know what he was not. See, he wasn’t a bird and he wasn’t a plane. Let’s be clear about that. (I know, I know, he wasn’t even real. But that is for another lesson)

We have the same issue when we try to describe “forgiveness.” We think that once it is offered everything is “fine and dandy.” Not necessarily! So this Sunday, as we conclude our series on Unpacking Forgiveness, let’s concentrate our study on “What Forgiveness is Not.” I hope that you’ll be here!

Many of you are waiting to hear about the Youth and Family Building. Here is the latest. We have cash or commitments that are within $4,000 of our goal. Secondly, 95% of the church members that voted approved the expenditure of the funds to build the building! Also, with only three “no-votes” the annual financial plan was adopted last Sunday afternoon as well! We asked that the church pray and indicate what God has told them to do! Let’s press forward and reach our community!

Here are a few other important reminders:

From time to time - check out what is happening by going to www.gracevine.com, our church's WEB page. You'll find everything from downloadable sermons to the most recent schedule of events.

And I’ll see you in the pews!
