A Word about Rich

“We are wicked rich!”  Those were the words that burst from the lips of our preschooler moments after walking into the upper level of a giant A-framed “cabin” in Conway, N.H. for the first time.  The chalet, nestled on a large wooded lot just a quarter mile from the region’s famed Swift River, was a far cry from our unassuming home in central Maine, and our son knew the difference immediately. What he didn’t realize was that we were there as guests of Charlotte’s parents who had taken an offer from church members to use their summer place.  To this day, no one in our family has forgotten that heartfelt moment when a youngster acknowledged the truth that our wealth is actualized because of someone else. It always comes down to this… who you know.  And who that someone else is, is whom we will talk about this Sunday in our second message on Stewardship.  The sermon is simply called, “Trust.”  To get ahead, spend some time inPsalm 56 before you come.

For those that were not with us on the First, we did break ground on our new building.  Construction is scheduled to begin next week.  Our giving to the project is strong.  While more funds will be needed, rejoice in knowing that our original goal has been reached!
