Servants On Wheels Ever Ready (SOWERS) is a non-profit, non-denominational, working ministry made up of interdenominational, born again Christian RVers.  We delight in serving the Lord by using our various acquired skills and God-given gifts to perform volunteer work on selected projects at about 175 Christian ministries located throughout the US and Canada.  Examples of our projects include churches, camps, conference grounds, orphanages, schools, missionary retreat centers and training facilities, and homes for neglected or abused children, unwed mothers or recovering adults.  Some SOWERS are full-time RVers while others maintain homes and travel periodically to work at projects.

Our project hosts provide full hook-ups for our RVs, a list of work to be performed, the supervision necessary to accomplish the work to their specifications, the building permits, all construction materials and any special tools or equipment.  We provide our labor, hand tools and our own meals.  All SOWERS are required to provide a criminal background check as part of the member application process and have that document on file in the SOWER Ministry office in order to work projects.

Members choose the project and month(s) they desire to work and submit their application to the home office for authorization.  A SOWER work month is three weeks in duration, 4 days per week and 6 hours per day.  Women are not required to work, but most able-bodied wives choose to work 3 hours per day.  The week following the three week project is a “free week.”  Members are free to remain at the project with the host continuing to provide RV space and hookups.  SOWERS may use that opportunity to visit the sights in the area, for rest and relaxation, or they may choose to move on down the road.
