Youth & Family Building
Current Project Funding
As of 5/31/2011, we have received $326,502 of the $402,000 pledged toward the youth building. Thank you for your faithfulness in giving.

Through generous giving during the past few years, Grace Bible Church has secured about $500,000 for the intended purpose of providing needed ministry space for our students and children. After careful evaluation of what will best serve those we are and want to reach, the leadership team of the church, made up of elders and pastors, offer to you an opportunity to help raise an additional $400,000 to build and equip a $900,000, 4,000 square foot building.
With an attitude of surrender to God, would you seek to know from Him what kind of a willing contribution you should give to make this building a reality?
The purpose of this ingathering of funds is to construct space to foster personal and corporate transformation of students and children. We have the leaders. We have many students and children. We need the tool!
Your giving will make a difference in the next generation!

What are the dimensions and costs of the building?
The overall building footprint is 4,000 square feet. The current bid cost is $900,000. The high school portion of the building is 1600 square feet, junior high is 950 square feet, and the two elementary areas are 500 square feet each. The balance of the building is divided into several support spaces. The facility team has decided to keep the cost figure as the overall number for the time being.
Why aren’t we designing the Youth building to look like the other buildings on GBC’s campus?
We are building a facility that reflects a core GBC value: that we would be a multigenerational church. This facility is aesthetically appealing to Youth and their families. It is designed as a space that allows them to do ministry in a highly relational, participatory and communal manner. This is a space that will both feel and look representative of our youth. It is intentionally designed differently to clearly show on the outside that something different is happening at GBC. God did not create us to all look, act, or be alike. Our differences and uniqueness is what adds wonderful diversity to our world.
What happens if we don’t raise enough money to complete the building? Will we still go ahead with building, or is there a plan B?
We believe we are following God’s direction, and we are trusting Him to work in all of our hearts to provide this needed facility. We are always praying and listening to God. We know that He wants us to reach and disciple students, and we believe this space is a part of that direction.
Are we competing with other churches and just building this facility to “keep up with the Jones’?”
No. This facility is designed to meet the real needs of this generation in the way that best ministers to students today, which is highly relational. We are addressing existing needs in high school, junior high, and elementary for today’s culture.
The price tag seems high for a building of this size…can we cut costs?
Keep in mind that, in general, the larger the building, the lower the square footage costs. Secondly, this building price is inclusive of quality interior elements such as sound, lighting, furniture, etc. We have worked very hard to contain costs.
Why would we build in this economy?
We have the need, regardless of economy. Additionally, a down economy is in many ways a great time to build. Based on other projects in the area we do know that this building will cost approximately two-thirds of what it cost three years ago, and project the same for the future. That is why this is a strategic time to get this building completed.
When would we start building and how long will it take to complete?
Construction would start as early as summer and take approximately 6-7 months from ground-breaking to occupancy.
Will this building be strictly for students?
No. This will primarily be a Youth and Families building. But this type of facility promotes highly relational, interactive, participatory ministry to happen naturally. We do not have any other space like this currently on our campus and it will greatly benefit us all.
How does giving to the building fund impact the general fund?
Statistics tell us that, amazingly, people who financially support a project like this are even more likely to give faithfully to the general budget needs of their churches. This has been true of GBC in its past building seasons.
